I have had the best and most positive experience with Dr. Jones and his staff at Sandhills Oral Surgery. This was my second implant procedure for the same tooth because after the first one failed 20 years ago, I was afraid to try again. But I did and I couldn't be happier. Dr. Jones walked me through each step and assured me everything was going well. I'll be getting my permanent crown soon. Thank you!!!

This review would be 100% a 5 star review IF billing and contacting anyone for help regarding billing was easy. Also, I have left messages with office staff for a doctor and that doctor never received my messages. So I think that is a HUGE issue that needs to be improved. The staff is friendly, but there are just communication errors happening and that is unfortunate. BUT the surgeons are top notch and the dental nurses/ asst. are phenomenal and caring. here is my thorough review of that! Long review, but worth the read if you are in search of an amazing oral surgeon. Dr. Gary Jones, this is a magic man! He is literally the best oral surgeon in existence I think. BUT maybe I am a bit biased? Either way, he has always been a top notch oral surgeon for my various surgeries. I had already done a review over 10 years ago when he did my wisdom teeth removal, however I believed that it was time for an update since he has done an extraction and also an implant now. Dr. Jones and I first met when I consulted with him regarding my three impacted wisdom teeth. (yep lucky I only had 3) He removed my top two first, and we did my lower one at a separate time. I was awake and only used a local for those extractions, and they were sideways and impacted not exposed. I had put off getting my wisdom teeth removed for many years because of anxiety about it and not meeting the right surgeon. I knew immediately that I wanted him to be my oral surgeon, we just clicked. My surgery was fast, he can move fast and efficiently guys! he talked to me throughout it and explained everything. I had NO complications after that surgery and minimal pain. My second surgery was for my lower right one, and I also did that one with local anesthetic and it was fast, easy and he once again guided me throughout it with a calm and steady voice. Recovery had no complications and I healed well. I did develop some issues unrelated to his surgical practice (I had TMJ issues already and the trauma of a wisdom tooth removal can aggravate that) so I had a trismus like situation occur but he saw me and treated me for that and helped me to get through that as well! Onward 10 years, and I needed a root canal treated tooth removed. I was nervous, upset, stressed and depressed about it. My dentist had tried to tell me that I was NOT a candidate for a dental implant due to the bone density in that area and my nerve being too close to the tooth. Little did my dentist know that I knew Dr. Gary Jones. Once I was able to speak to Dr. Gary, we set a plan in motion and he extracted my RCT tooth under local anesthetic only. His nurse Geri was the one assisting and they both got me through it, as it was a very complicated, and extensive extraction, and I also received a bone graft. Recovery was painful as expected, but I developed NO complications and healing was in my opinion, fast for what had to be done. It was his most complicated extraction of 2023. But he did a great job. 4 months later, I received my dental implant. Smooth and easy is how I would describe it. I was awake, local only and Dr. Jones and his sweet surgical assistant, Donna talked me through it and it was literally the fastest and easiest procedure dental wise, that I have ever had. A filling is more noisy and full of vibrations and sounds. This was slight pressure and pretty much, that is it. No issues, and I would highly recommend for extractions that are complicated or implants!
