Sandhills Oral Surgery
Patient Review
I was refereed to Sandhills by my primary dentist, When I arrived for my appt I gave the lady working the front my BCBS dental ins card. I filled out my paper work and was taken back for consultation. Then they had me come out to pay before they worked on my tooth. This is when they told me that they only had one in network insurance and that was Delta Dental and I would had had to pay the entire bill. I had to pay 95.00 for consultation . Why did they not tell me when I handed them my insurance card that it was out of network. Will not recommend them.

Everyone has been really nice and comforting the 3 times I have had procedures done at this office. They have made time to see me every time I had a concern or an issue. I really appreciate their kindness, compassion and concern about how I was feeling and that if I needed anything to just call. I would definitely Go back to Sandhills OMS if future surgeries are necessary.

I highly recommend this office. Everyone was very nice and professional. My mother went to have an oral surgery procedure done and she was very impressed with all of the employees that she came in to contact with. Dr. Jelic was nice, professional, and very skilled and highly trained. She was very nervous but the staff was helpful in comforting her. The procedure was a success and we highly recommend Sandhills Oral for any of your specialized dental needs.

I am VERY disappointed in the treatment I received today at Sandhills Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery office. We were told twice (over the phone and when checking in) that this was going to be a FREE consultation and that our insurance was in network. We ended up having to pay $90.00 out of pocket at the end of our appointment and they denied that they said it was a free consultation. My appointment was at 3:00 pm and I was not called back until 4:05pm and did not leave the office until 5pm. While the doctor I had my consultation with, Dr. Jelic, was fantastic, the ladies that work in the office were not very welcoming, and one, in particular, had a very nasty attitude. Cathy (or Kathy) in the billing corner was excessively rude. She was very sarcastic and was not helpful at all when we had questions about our payment and insurance coverage. This place has lost a patient, and I will be finding another office to have my surgery. This was a recommendation from my dentist, but I will also be sure to let him know about the poor treatment I received.

There are good dentists and there are great dentists. Dr. Jones is beyond a great dentist, he's a great oral surgeon. When a local endodontist told me an implant was required, I asked for the name of who he would go to if he needed an implant. Since it was not a referral, he was reluctant but said there was only one - Dr. Gary Jones. My consultation appointment confirmed he was the surgeon for me. Friendly staff, conveniently located and a friendly person. He made me comfortable with his confident and reassuring manner, explaining the entire process in detail. Shortly after my consultation, I relocated to Charlotte. I chose to stay with Dr. Jones and make those 182 mile trips (each way) for the appointments. It was worth it. His job is finished and I couldn't be happier with the results.
