Description
Esthetic Dentistry is not only about technical skills or using state-of-the art materials. It is the way you visualize the disharmonies, the way you communicate all the issues with the team, the way you present the plan to the patient that makes the difference.
Through the process of Digital Smile Design (DSD) you will improve:
- Your esthetic diagnosis
- Your communication skills
- Your case documentation
- Your educational capabilities
- Your case acceptance
The lecture will also highlight some important aspects of implant dentistry including material selection, prosthetic soft tissue conditioning, abutment design, color communication, pink ceramics/composite implant restorations, the guided diagnostic wax-up, and how and when to do the Mock-up, the esthetic Test Drive.
We will also discuss the work-up, provisional fabrication and conversion, immediate-load protocol, surgery and final restoration of full-arch implant fixed cases.
Biography
Lars is a board certified and master dental technician from Malmö, Sweden. He has studied and worked with many of the leaders in the cosmetic and implant world including: Drs. Per-Invar Bränemark, Pete Dawson , John Kois , Carl Misch, Michael S Block, Avishai Sadan, Robert F. Faulkner, John Cranham, Christian Coachman,David Garber, Maurice Salama, Henry Salama and many more. He is the former Chair for the Academy of Osseointegration Allied Staff committee and a Fellow member in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Lars is also a honored PEERS member for Dentsply implants and is an assistant lecturer for the AMARA institute at Valley Dental Arts. Lars is a clinical faculty at VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University) and also a special consultant to several manufacturers, teaches and is experienced with all of the major implant systems. Lars has published several articles on implant dentistry, digital dentistry and communication. He serves on the IDT (Inside Dental Technology) as the Editorial Advisory Board and has lectured extensively nationally and internationally on digital dentistry, cosmetic and implant dentistry, including the ICOI (International Congress of Oral Implantologists), AO (Academy of Osseointegration), SACD (Swedish Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry) and the Astra Tech international world congress in Sweden 2012. AAOMS (American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons) and is a speaker Xpert on Dental XP. Lars also is a DSD Instructor and teach DSD (Digital Smile Design) live hands-on courses.
Dr. Jones hails from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Summa Cum Laude and was awarded the distinction of “University Scholar.” He completed his doctorate studies at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. His residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery was completed at the Medical College of Virginia.Dr. Jones served his country as a staff surgeon at Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, NC. There he received The Meritorious Service Medal. He has been in private practice in North Carolina now for 20 years. His practice’s primary focus has been dental implant placement and reconstructive surgery. He is board certified in his specialty. He also enjoys lecturing about implant dentistry and is the founder and director of the Fayetteville Implant Dentistry Study Club and the Central Carolina Dental Continuum, a Seattle Study Club. He is an adjunct professor at VCU/MCV.
