Description
Of the many ways to restore the edentulous patient, implant retained and supported overdentures allow us to provide our patients with, not only, a secure prosthesis, but one which can be more easily cleaned and restore the patients proper facial form and esthetics. Not all edentulous candidates are good candidates for a full arch fixed prosthesis and this course will help you in determining and diagnosing which patients are better suited for an implant retained overdenture.
Objectives:
- The Importance of Correct Diagnoses and Treatment planning
- Choosing Implant Retained or Implant Supported Overdentures
- Prosthesis Design
- Vertical Requirements for Removable Prostheses
- Restorative Components/Milled Substructures/Attachments
At the end of this course you should be able to:
- Evaluate patients presenting for treatment
- Understand the design of both types of overdenture prostheses (Lone standing and Milled Bar)
- Understand and be familiar with the components used
- Understand digital scanning and milled bar digital design
